I was looking for friends
To read my poetry
And critique

I had tried so many places
Before I stumbled upon the site
They hated my poetry
And criticed with spite

I didn't like the hateful replies
So I kept on searching
Until I came upon this message board
And found people that truly liked my poetry
Without spiteful replies

So I truly found friends
When I came here
I will never leave this board
So don't fear

Cold hands means a warm heart

Julie, I'm glad you found PIP and gave us your thoughts.  I agree in that at some of the sites the others think they are above you and that you don't write good enough for their standards which I detest.  How can anyone judge the words that come from within another's soul?

Take care.....Sue

Julie,
I've heard those horror stories before. Glad I didn't have to go through that. Glad you're here and glad you plan to stay!

Show you care to those you love...today.

All I can say is that it is people like you who make this place so worth staying for!

Challenge well met, Julie...
Piptalk is such a loving family, and we are happy to have you here.
I, too have had some horrible nightmarish experiences at other websites...
I think most of us have.

I went to one website, ironically called "everypoet",  where they really hated it if you said that you liked a poem.  All they wanted to do was to tell everyone how awful their poems were.  And we weren't supposed to write with our hearts...which was totally rediculous.
Here is the link the the poem I wrote...
I have re-posted it a few times already because so many of us have had bad experiences.

Hi Julie,
oh yes, it was a really humbling, though torturing, experience when people put down my work at other sites..then i realised that i shouldn't have to go through such nonsense when i found passions...

nice meeting you...hope to read more of your work...

I am new in the forum, and have no experience of others, but in the short time I have been 'in the circle' (I have been an 'outsider' looking in ever since I met Sunny!), it appears that you all have something in here that is missing elsewhere on the internet. The magic ingredient 'X' - a kiss, a smile, a hug - caring words for those who are 'down' - and so much more.  One thing that 'Artists'(painters, writers, and musicians) have to have is sensitivity, and it is within this Forum in all its guises.

Kind thoughts,
from
John

Julie was also the one who brought me here. Always gotta have a warrior, eh?

What is life without poetry and adventure?
"Little sister" is just another way of saying "Guardian Angel"!
