*~Streaming Colors~*

From rebellious roots~
our nation grew to greatness

liberty~

brutally won
through battles and wars
bravery and brilliance

today~
on the anniversary of our independance
streaming colors
unfurl the dignity and scars
of a people
united in bravery and pride

we stand together~
respecting our cherished past
remembering always
those who gave their lives
for our freedom
and our future

Lyra darling girl I think this is utterly utterly perfectly written I can’t tell you how fabulous this is to see, a wonderful tribute by a stunningly beautiful soul. I love it love it love it utterly utterly.

Happy 4th July may the words of liberty and brotherhood ring out forever.

God bless America, and God bless you too

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the eathquake wind and fire

Karilea...thanks so much for your reply, and I hope you had a great holiday

Martie...thanks so much for replying to my poem.  I'm glad you enjoyed

Marsha...thanks so much for the holiday wish...but remember...It was the British that we fought.  You aren't still the enemy are you?   I don't think so LOL

Nancy...thanks for missing me.  I got a cold which turned into pneumonia because my immune system still isn't back to what it used to be.  Now I am taking some herbs to try to strengthen it and the pneumonia is gone but I still tire easily.  Hopefully, that will slowly go away in the next few days.

Michael...thanks so much for your reply.  Its so very good to see you here again

Noah...thanks so much and I hope you had a wonderful holiday

Marie...thanks so much for the welcome back...now, I hope I can stay here.  I keep thinking I'm all better and then overdoing things and ending right back in bed again...
but today, I've been taking it real easy.

Nan...thank you so much and I hope you had a wonderful holiday.  I also hope that you don't live anywhere near those horrible floods in Texas.

Sydney...thank you much...so glad you enjoyed and I hope that you and your family had a wonderful 4th

Joyce...hooray for all of us...thanks so much for your reply.

Sue...thanks so much.  I think I will be okay if I don't try to do too much at a time.
I'm so glad your computers working again...speakers and all.  I usually keep my speakers turned off because sometimes I like to listen to our stereo.

Duncan...thanks so much for your reply.  It turns out that the pneumonia held me back a lot more than I wanted it to but I am getting stronger every day...

Hugs to all of you
