~In Literary Start~

I was nineteen
mid Cali-spring
Just got out
of a four year “thing”
With a man
so slippery-
he forgot the
caution sign

never thought
to tell me

my wounds
were carpet burns
forever grazing
tip of rug
forever scalding
songs of love…

Silver tears
(frozen before)
flowed freely
upon wasted years
As passion
gloried dust

My sis showed me
this healing site
Think it was-
Open # 3??

Since then
I’ve been
a glue stick
draining pen
and heart
reining in
upon the words
Of fellow poets
~in literary start~

Open arms can be the most fragile in the world...

And thus began devina. I have pretty much the same story.

devina,
you can always tell when there are good beginnings they build strong roots and you have roots going deep. Fabulous write.

I am sure there are many that found their literary start in much the same way.  Seems that in order to be an artist in any medium, first you must live part of life's canvas on the backside as much as you would on the front.  Well written and much enjoyed.

Beautiful!!! It's odd to read that a lot of our members came here hurting and found solace in writing. (This is a great challenge by the way!)
