2.2.02
Fortress of my secret thoughts
Oasis of my scattered dreams
Endless corridors to trap my screams
Twisting staircases to count my desires
A warm fire
Found within m'lords chamber
Burning embers
To warm my restless spirit
A chair to rest my wounded pride
A canopy bed to cradle my heart
Warm blankets to suffocate the pain
All found within my secret hideaway
My Camelot..

Quite a refuge you have here!

I particularly like:

"Oasis of my scattered dreams
Endless corridors to trap my screams"

Like this....Of course I always am a sucker
for a title like you have given this poem..

And I agree,  I think we all have our own
little Camelot somewhere to regroup and
put things back together....

"Let it never be forgot
That once there was a spot,
For...one brief shining moment..
That was known as Camelot."

Of course these words from the song came to mind right away...
and I do believe we all create our own Camelot...I know I did!

Aww, a lovely piece Kristen. Short, simple, but very deep. The expressions you use are lovely. Solitude! Solitude! None of us get enough of it, I feel. Well, some do, but, you understand me. Silience and solitude help us balance life, no? But... I'm thinking you don't neccessarily mean solitude.

"Found within m'lords chamber"

By this.. are you referring to love, me dear?

Sincerely,
Titus
