A Tribute to Passions Family of Female Poets
During April, National Poetry Month

**

In our hearts we are sisters in this world of poetry
Bound by one vision, that we are all allowed to be free
We lean on each other, when so weary we can’t stand
And know that the greatest sin, is to take a sister’s man

We are fierce in our devotion, to family and to friends
In our hearts there is no way to tell, where love begins or ends
Hands reach out in sisterhood, without prejudice or pride
To share the darkest secrets kept, hidden deep inside

Looking back towards our ancestry, to those who’ve gone before
We know all we’ve gained isn’t just, being first to go through a door
We gained the right to learn and to learn from our mistakes
We know what it means to lose and we know what winning takes

We are sinners and we are angels, we are mothers and wives
Bound together by appreciation of the joy in our lives
Each day we thank God for the chance to be free
To live, to love and most of all, to write our poetry.

I liked that...

We know all we’ve gained isn’t just, being first to go through a door
We gained the right to learn and to learn from our mistakes
We know what it means to lose and we know what winning takes

And this too!

Thank you for this beauty that reaches so far and wide.  Really nice~

"And know that the greatest sin, is to take a sister’s man"

Unfortunately, there are some who haven't learned that yet... they either believe that old "all's fair" line... or just don't mind sinning to the max. *G*

But they're in the minority... and it's ultimately their loss. *S* Your poem is a wonderful anthem celebrating the strength we find in each other. I've been very lucky to find fierceness of devotion and an abundance of love from some of my poetic sisters... I thank them every day for welcoming me into their "family". *S*

This is beautiful, sis. *S*

Beautiful tribute to many very talented ladies dear friend!!!!May I add three more women to this list or should I say children. Three of the students in my poetry group at school (I am a custodian) won in the Northern Ontario Poetry competition, all three are female ranging in ages from 9 to 12 years old. I am so proud of them!!
