The path is long gone,
as are the reasons why and how I dared
to wander over the bridge into midnight
that has essentially become my past to lean upon.

Sitting on the fence where the lines are drawn
watching for you to meet me half way
taking me over the bridge to the other side
where the mist rises from a river bed.

Catching in whispered breaths
like stained glass cuts the frost
etched into my heart
strategically cracked
iridescent in the moonlight.

I've seen through the clouds
humbled by the burst of rain,
I've watched the stream of tears
flow into the river that becomes the sea.

I've held onto a star and let it go
the essence of my wish
that's shown me how to fall gracefully
without breaking apart,
held between your hands.

My lead that brightens my days
in dreams running free over the bridge
captured in verse on the edge of reality
that borders on my every fantasy.
Moving silently over peaks and valleys
where human nature takes her course
winding her own trails.

A north wind blows from a distant sky
flying on the wind that carries into another day.
How does one convey
the state of mind we bridge between
the other side of midnight~

A time and place where love surrenders
in dreams we steal away....

Lori~

this was such a stunning and
beautiful write...the images in
this were so vivid and yet soft...
it almost whispered to me...you have
done an oustanding job with this.
true poetry in motion...

take care.

Do you believe in the mere fate of reading something at the right time? I think I'm starting to believe it more and more..all I can say is that I'm this close to crying but I can't because Im at the library but who cares anyways? rarely does this happen..*sigh*

So many good lines in this, Blues.  Really effective images.

Amy~ That is a heady compliment, I am so happy to know my words moved you.  Thank you for stopping by and just being here for me.

Diamond Lady~ Thank you for leaving your sparkle,
it is appreciated ever so much.

Noah~ It is when we can finally see the light that we truly know and are no longer threatened by the shadows.  You're quite the perceptive one.
Thank you Noah~

Kristen~ The experience you speak of is rare, and yes, it has happened to me before.   It is spooky how one can write or read the words we are thinking at the time..... but I do believe fate plays a part in all things.  I am moved by your reply and I thank you sincerely.

Mr. Tabin~ Tis my pleasure to know it pleases you.  Thank you Sir~

James~ How does the song go?
I would rather live in his world, than live without him in mine!!  Oh yea!!!
Thank you James~

Sandra~  It's a wobbly bridge but I've learned to keep my footing and keep on keeping on, bound and determined I am!!
It seems the moon shines brighter over there.

Peaches~ I am so glad you went with it and stopped long enough to tell me so.  Thank you so much.

Hey Duncan~ It's a sturdy fence that holds me up, but it is hard to ignore the lines sometimes.  I just try not to look except when I have to.  Geeez, it's like the great divide!!  LOL~

Dee my dear~ You are much to kind and always I am deeply touched by the fact that you think so much of what I have to say.  Please know it encourages me in ways I can't begin to thank you for.

Larry~ You and your cow are a class act!  You know what I mean and what it means to me.  Thanks~

Chris~  I think we have to let go before we can see the light and realize that we've no hold on it in the first place.
Thanks~
