The Watch

I watched my shadow crawl to the sea
Standing a beach of antiquity.
Eaten by the glitter of the sun
It disappeared and became as one.

A quickening of essence bright
Born and gone in the echoes light
Sparked alive and arced with the tide
My only thought, you by my side

I accept the change the strange and bane
But thoughts of your loss drive me insane.
I cannot accept the end of our rhyme
I would that we stayed together in time.

I know you’ll say we circle forever
But I don’t think I could stand the sever
And though I digress of things I don’t know
It is only my wish to make it so.

So hold my hand when discarding the core
I would only you in my evermore.

"I would only you in my evermore"

I love how you express your tender thoughts...

I would say you get better and better..but I think you have been there for awhile. *s

On wings of rhyme we take this endless flight
Over sands of time we circle infinities light
Whispered winds carry this wish to a dreamer's star afar
Believing will close the scar, leaving evermore's door ajar

Your wish, my command, I'll write your name in the sand
Hand in hand, we'll walk your warm beaches of understand
Winds of change may blow ... but this you will just know
A hand held out in trust's bestow ... I've no intention of letting go

Sy,
Very touching indeed. Such tender passion has touched my soul. And deep rich sentiments so very well expressed. Excellent job Sy.

Seymour darling boy Oh my I’m  breathless with wonder this is simply gorgeous. YOU do KNOW I simply LOVE your writing don’t you?

I can actually feel the depth of this, this is utterly utterly wonderful. Truly awesome writing you are always a fabulous writer. Utterly utterly exquisite, writing, lovely flow, perfect rhyme I love it

I’d walk beside you evermore
Though tired, hungry and foot-sore
The sands of time can summon me
To take me back to journey’s sea
But this with you I’d love to share
Your life’s walking here and where
Time has no meaning to my soul
By your side I’d feel I’m whole

I’d walk beside you in shadow
Where times sands cease to flow
I’d learn all that I could of you
Show what I’ve learnt is quite true
In minds eye we could go far
The highest peak or brightest star
Across desserts of shifting sand
We’d walk together hand in hand

I’d walk beside you into night
Turn my eyes from the sunlight
No fearsome darkness could hold me
Walking with you I am free
When the day comes for you to go
I’ll shed no tears for I know
That you will still be here with me
Now and for eternity

JM,
Is that us that are holding hands?
And walking on the timeless sands?
There is a rainbow beneath our feet
And the waves seem an Eden beat.
