twilight and the path you had taken
to and from the old tree arises from the mist though
they are passed and gone as are you far far away from me
and as the darkness descends your ghost returns again to
flaunt me and where the little swing creaks & blows
empty in the wind you come running and
grabbing the chain jump into
its cradle push momma
push you still need me
to get you started you ask the
ageless questions of discovery while your
hair sails on the breeze momma why don’t we have
wings like a bird momma why did the old dog die will we
see ‘em in Heaven grandma calls from the kitchen and your
off and running with your wandering vision into bed and
I am left alone with the empty swing creaking in the
wind I wake to April's rain but the dream will

find and leave me again like your
beaten path to the old old
tree and swing
and there
again
you'll
find me

What a tender and sweet remembrance.  This was so felt by me that it has left me somewhat speechless. This was truly a very heartfelt and extremely well done piece.

I thank you so much Mysteria... What a tender and sweet thing to say.  Martie and I have felt many of the same vibrations but I don't think they have ever left us speechless. (I could be wrong) It was however truly heartfelt.

This is truly beautiful. I had to go back and read it again to feel the goosebumps it gave me once more. Chris

A very arresting combination of form and substance in this one....

...and in spite of the raw emotional punch of a subject like this one, you captured the nightmare of it without losing control of the narrative or the scarily understated tone -- riveting all the way down.

Marge, so... to the nth degree huh... you & Martie have been the sisters I never had and no one could ask for better. love you both.

Ratleader, some very well chosen words here in your re: The form came about when my English teacher (mother in law) said something about prose being eye-tiring so I came up with the art form. Now she wants to see everything I write.
Nice compliment about control. Thanks much.

littlewing, honestly, I need to get over and read some of your works.

Thank you all again for your gracing my words.

I like that form, but it plays heck with my dyslexia....All the same, I think I'll fight my way past that...eye-popping curves or not, they're well done and worth the reading if this is any indication.
