Unfulfilled

Silently the symbols cast.
Clouded garbles of the past
Distant rumbles that are born.
Sweeping down before the dawn.

Manifest within your sleep.
Ever present in their sweep.
Setting pins within the alley
Strike or spare the echoes rally.

They are the phantoms that remain
The spirits of a lost refrain
The mist that settles into dew
The crystal effervescent you

Desires of a ghostly stand
With paths of fear that showed quick sand
Choices made without adroit.
Unfulfilled without exploit.

They are the rumbles flashing gleams.
They are the lightning in old dreams.

Now you know I've read enough to know
perhaps were this thought came from so...
I shall meet for a game of pins...
then walk you down toward the Inn...
a pint of pale for me and you?
A drop or two of Randy's brew...

then'll we'll go find your rifle and your dog!

And those will be my way cool lines of the day.
What this ... "Unfulfilled," you say?
Tis a matter of the cup seen half empty or half full,
But thy rhyme scheme dream fills us with wisdom's cool rule.

I love this poem. We have similar writing styles. This poem spoke to me because at this stage in my life, I am attempting to fulfill the unfulfilled so that I may become the person I should have become.

Well, lookey what I would have missed if
Marge hadn't flipped the back pages!!!

Your words, dear Seymour, are always like a breath of fresh air. No matter what you decide to write about, your rhymes are always superb. You know, that's my favorite kind of poetry. My favorite form to write is rictameter. Now, if I could just figure out how to put the two together, I'd be fine.....

Heart hugs,
Ethel

Marge
How can you thank an angel, perhaps a second set of wings. LOL

Ethel,
You walk lightly on all the paths you take
I have no worries about you.

Noah,
I agree, I don't think our buisness is ever done. Thank you

"Strike or spare the echoes rally"

I like that line.

I've read this poem multiple times and each time come up with greater depth and meaning.

Enjoyed, Hugs, Pat
