Nay!
Those places dark
That lie between the words
I will not visit on this day
Of cold and angry wind.

My cloak will not stay the edge
Of icy touch on heart

My heart will not beat again
To those ancient drums

Nay!
The voids filled with demons
Do not lure me into lairs of old
For I am scarred now from times before
  And cutting swipes not parried

  My dagger sheathed will stay
No slaying of fey spirits will it do
Too brittle of spirit for this
It must be sent to smith for tempering

Nay!
You would not like those voids
Nor find respite in them from day to day
So sit and stay, this cup we’ll share
    Tomorrow
       The demons will still
         Be there

feel free! This is a ramble of thought..and a ramble only...that could be tightened up and made better with a rewrite or two...
always interesting to see what transpires from the thoughts shared in such a ramble...

Darkness lies between all lines
But come each morn the light reigns in.
I've seen it all before this day
and you shall too, in smile of wind.

Dear Sir, the edge is mine beheld
ragged, cuts unhealed of heart.
Unless of course those drums that beat
the silence into demons' start.

I cloak  my words in warmth for you
Nay on nays, voids emptied too
Unsheath your sword, release your ill
For I am "child of" moonlights will.

Alice:
I fear I hold no chance of poetic replies with one of your talent...so I will not attempt one here. I will say intriguing indeed are words and the things that lie behind them, and shared meanings as well as pasts are always welcomed understandings.

Cpat

A very interesting read..much enjoyed.  Made me look out of the corner of my eye to see if avoidance waits for me.

Thanks Martie... a ramble of sorts is all... something that popped into head and made itself be written. Your kind words are always apprecated.

Well, this may be a ramble, but it sure is good. And very intriguing to think over.

And you, m'friend, are very adept at reading between lines. But Nay, it doesn't bother me...as I was BORN nekked! with grins, m'friend!

I like the thought of this one Sir. . . it flows very well into the mind of the reader. . .

well done. . . and a unique title. . . makes one think about the placement of the (). . .

Serenity: ;> we are all born naked... it is the hiding between the being born and the being buried we find filled with those dreaded monsters.

Sven: Thank you Kind Sir for the comment and thoughts. Yes the placement is key to the title...or was intended to be.
