Her soul’s like crystal snowflakes
Broken easily amid the dust
Shattered from the pleadings
‘You must! You must!’

She only wants to dissolve like ice
Wants to just to melt away
But icy breath of haunting lovers
Entreat her yet to stay

Trampling her gentle heart
Devouring her life’s source
All the while, lovers claim
‘I love you only, of course!’

When her spirit is sapped
Picked dry and left to die
Lovers will ne’er look back
Nor do they hear her sigh

A melting tear of crystal
Lies now beside her cheek
Would life have been so good
If she were not so meek.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Sharon, this is so very sad, my heart all goes to all these lost lovers in the world and I pray with all my heart that they will rise to the hope of a brand new day and have love touch their hearts once more to last forever! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Beautiful haunting analogy and imagery...
its snowing here...so your timing is as poetic as your cadence

"Never made it as a wise man
couldn't cut it as a poor man stealin
Tired of livin like a blind man
sick of sight without a sense of feelin"

good final question, deVine one. As they say....if it is true the meek shall inherit the earth, who will stand up to claim it??

We are who we are - The meek are not the weak... Only less intrusive upon the world...This is beautifully said, deVine one..

This is a truly heartfelt poem. How many of us have given of ourselves too freely wanting only to be accepted and possibly loved in return? I wonder. Chris

ah. . . but what is meekness??  and is one person's meekness another person's boldness??

very thought-provoking here. . . I like it. . .
