Tribute to a Poet

I read a poem the other day
the image it brought to mind
will just not go away.

My heart was touched
in such a way, this poet
had so much to say and
expressed it in such a way,
that he exposed his very soul.

It was all about another man's plight,
but it was the writers insight that gave
it life, and in doing so he allowed me to
see inside his soul, which was not,
his initial goal.

I came away a richer person after I was
allowed to see a poignant moment
shared by a special person....nona

Nona, this is really wonderful, and the poet you spoke of should feel quite honored. Poetry is such a powerful force, it often  reveals much more than we realize or intend.

Thanks so much for your feeback it is so reassuring that I may have once again found my "magic" pencil (my last post sometime ago) I have had a long dry spell and have taken to reading for inspiration and I guess you might say I found it..
I hesitate to reveal just who it was as I almost feel it would be an invasion into someones vulnerable spot. They are one among us though not that that should surprize anyone here......thanks again for your words

...and that IS what it is all about, leaving behind a feeling, a message, a hint of who was here....

Yes Nona, they do have a way of touching us, do they not?

wow didn't expect the response I got with this one.....but don't you see that if I gave it away then I would only rob you of the poem it bought to your mind because what I see as a special moment might not be so special for you at all and I would hate to spoil your moment.....hehe

I agree with startime, the inspire is enough. Whom ever it is, they have done something wonderful for you. It is nice to see you back posting too.
