A Chitzanitzan chicken
far too hyper for the farm
in a land poverty stricken
where the chili's four alarm.

Jose' the ranchero rube
a kind and simple bumpkin
couldn't solve a Rubik's cube
but he knew his squash and pumpkin.

He'd a haze of healthy maze
for tortillas and pig plumpin'
goats who'd graze, but all amazed
at one huge and awesome pumpkin.

It was staid, a steady stanchion
like a doorman with aplomb
quite alive in his expansion
Jose's display of greenest thumb.

Quiet dignity was sprawling
in the corner pumpkin patch,
itchy chicken always squalling
racing round so loud and brash.

From red baubled epiglottis
ditzy chicken raised a sound
twas a squabble quite unmodest
it was heard for miles around.

Schitzy chicken had a diet
pilfered seeds with worm desserts
and one day their was a riot
he whitewashed pumpkin with his squirts.

When Jose' saw this graffiti
jalapeno! What offense,
pointy boot to tail where meaty
twitching chicken cleared the fence

And my tale marked eyebrows question?
and the point I'm headed for?
Just to prove the saying oft mentioned
the hen is flightier than the gourd.

OMG Richard this is hilarious!  You truly crack me up sometimes with the stuff you dream up but you even topped yourself with this one, and it sure didn't "lay an egg" Ohhhhhhh.   I loved it, very cute.
