Row row row your boat
o'er water it will float
gently along the tortuous stream
it works better if there is a team

merrily terribly, merrily terribly
life can be a haunting dream
water flows gently down meandering streams
yet London bridge may tumble down.

Humpty too had a great fall
his shout was his last known call,
row gently as you course downstream
never to wake, it's all a dream!

IF you had grandchildren, I would say they interrupted your nap with their songs...

Enjoyed this!

Sunshine,

No have a great nephew though who will learn these and hopefully see the wit behind them
one day..lots of destruction behind them when you think about it!

Enchantress,

that why I sliced the children's rhyme to fit each stanza, I would have liked to keep the same meter throughout, oh well.

I wish I had shared poetry with my kids when they were younger...
