standing on a shadow's lace

     WANTED:  Valentine

this year I’m starting a little early
putting in my request
I’m looking for a valentine
a soft hearted woman’s quest
not looking for flowers, candy or cards
these I can get myself
want something you can’t buy
would like someone to give themselves
what kind of man are you
must know before we proceed
a special kind of man
is exactly what I need
he has to have a tender heart
not the kind to easily stop
for many have a fear of me
when they find out I’m a cop
not looking for a man to take my life
but who would love to share
that can look beyond my faults
a lifetime of love and friendship to be there
who sees me as an equal
to stand on common ground
there when we need each other
a true loyalty found
a man with a brain
for I like to talk and think
but that can make me weak
each time he winks
this too is important
so take heed
the special gift of humor
is also a need
if you are this man
please don’t be shy
I’m looking for a valentine
won’t you apply

Ahh, now, Helen, all they would have to do, is to look at your heart, and they should swarm to you....very gentle smile

Fantastic!  Really; a great message.  I only have 2 suggestions:

1)  Punctuation (I'm addicted to it you see - lol)
2)  Regarding your line which reads:
"that can look beyond my faults"
Don't ask someone to look beyond your faults girlfriend; those are the very traits that someone who loves you will cherish!  They are what make you unique and special.  Embrace those so called faults, and expect that your Valentine will too!

I would wish you luck, but with a post this good, I am sure you won't need it.  Aw shucks, here some lucky fairy dust for you anyway +*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Helen

Absolutely the best I have seen.  Now, when you find him, if he has any brothers, I am the on the "request list".  Make sure that he is honest, sincere, and loyal too.  I hope all of your valentine wishes come true.

Helen...don't know if I qualify for any of your request. I can't measure myself in the eyes of another; all I can do, or be,  is what "I" think/feel is right - it's up to others to decide if that's enough or not.

So-o...all I can offer is ME, as I am, for your valentine, as much or little as your eyes may see.

Walk easy my friend (loved this by the way)

Ummm, since we want the same things...can I just add my name to this request? Oh, I guess I should write my own, you think?
This is fun, and also heartfelt, I'm sure..
