Texas Attitude
By Larry Chadwick

The army transferred him in,
Arrived the newest in the unit.
Introductions all around,
Joe was the guy to do it.

It was Bob that next he met,
And asked where he was from?
Oregon was the state he said,
With pride and even then some.

He thought he understood,
And knew where it was at.
But Bob had a puzzled look,
And said: Where in Texas is that?

Nah, sounds like one of them places over in East Texas, maybe down by Paris. Course, I suppose it could be up by Earth. Love your poem. Is it okay if I print it out and take it to my Mom to read?

Cute piece, Larry. Them Texans think it's the only state in the union, sorta like them Baptists (I'm one) who think they're the only ones going to Heaven. Haha! Cheryl
