I am a c a n d l e made of finest beeswax wick trimmed quietly standing but, I cannot truly be who I am, and who I was called to be until I burn  ------------------------------------------------------------------ To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

So your saying, A candle is merely a candle until it is lit. As to how a person is just a mere person until he/she is awakened to something higher.(?) |

A candle? I loved the emtaphor Sven... A candle would have to endure alot...the wind, the heat.....and have to burn itself to light up the world..... In many ways, we are candles.... Yes .... we are all just candles but it is when we shine that our personalties and uniqueness is truly burned into time. We are who we are, for some a decoration, to some an object of safety and peace of mind and to others a soothing and guiding light. Most excellent!! |

thank you everyone. . . this was inspired by something that I heard this morning. . . I heard that a candle is not a candle until it burns. . . it must give its all to be a candle. . . the flame is what makes a candle a candle. . . and when the flame burns, the candle gives its all. . . it gives its very being to shine. . . so too, must we give of ourselves, give of what we are, to shine for the world, to be that light. . . shine on tonight my friends. . . let the world see who you are. . . and never stop being candles. . . --------------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

When I read this, I thought of Elton John's song, "Candle in the Wind" about Hollywood's Marilyn Monroe, the lost candle of Norma Jean. So many things to think about, whenever I light a candle! |
