Where Shadows Befriend

I close my eyes, so weary this day
mending the tears of the past.
An interlude recesses my mind,
secluded, timed-out, and miscast.
Roled, I performed as expected,in task.
Overburdened, I labor, exhaust.
Toiled my fields and drudged me in sweat
enslaved me with feelings, embossed.
Raised in design by the words that adorn,
lending the beauty to rise.
In splendor I rest, embellished by thoughts
enhanced by the look of blue eyes.
Pictured and framed now, for viewing by one
imaged replayed in the mind.
Alone in the darkness, where shadows befriend,
a phantom becomes so inclined.
Leaning upon me, slanting the truth,
a fondness refracted in twist,
of a once upon feeling, perception of love
perhaps, that could never exist.

I can relate very well to this poem. It opens your heart gently while you view the shadows that were once filled with light. *sigh* interesting where this poem took me. Very well done.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

One never really knows,
beyond the wanting mind,
what lies in the shadows,
imagine all your heart may find.

Your depth always amazes me!!
Hope your week goes well ...
my best always!!

I like the way this is written

Raised in design by the words that adorn,
lending the beauty to rise.
In splendor I rest, embellished by thoughts
enhanced by the look of blue eyes.

Startime...you understood perfectly..thank you *s

serenity, Karen...I am not so sure it is one of my best, but my feelings sometimes get the best of me and these recent poems show the intensity of which I feel. I am hoping you understand this and that you can accept it knowing I also understand and feel the compassion you share on here, also. Thank you

Nancy~if you felt anything from this poem, then I am most grateful my words came across.

ctowen...I don't think I have depth..in fact I think some days I am all surface and there is nothing left beneath..but thank you Craig for your very kind responses. *s

Mon Cherie..your words please me, thank you.
