Highways Of My Heart
~*Marge Tindal*~

Out across the highways of my heart
I've sometimes traveled roads of blame
Found a Detour that got me safely around
even the mention of your name

But I've never wished I hadn't passed your way
with all the road signs of no regret
I found it easy to Yield to the temptation
Soft Shoulders of you I'll not soon forget

On the expressways of you I have traveled
sometimes I Exit down a path of remind
without becoming completely unraveled
touring folded memories in the glove-box of my mind

Marge, I remember seeing you
Along love's winding avenue
You passed me in the outside lane
And made mush out of my poor brain..
Although I only saw a flash
Of beauty as you quickly passed
You won the heart of Balladeer
And put my motor in high gear!
I fell for you so very much
I hoped to get you in my clutch
And prayed that I would get a brake
To floor you good, for Heaven's sake!
But you ignored this balladeer,
A small dot in your rear-view mirror.
A mat beneath your feet am I..
Exhausted as you passed me by

We've traveled many miles together
across these pages blue
Hiked the highways of the night
when no one else would do

While you are the love
I won't forget
You missed one sign

That "Slippery When Wet" sign seems to get me every time!
I've lost your love so many times it really is a crime!
Every time I think that I'm as close as I can get
I let you slip away 'cause you are slippery when wet!

I shouldn't get your juices flowing...that's my only sin
'Cause when you get that slippery I know that I can't win.
Next time I've got a new procedure that I'm gonna try...
Instead of leaving you all wet, I'm gonna leave you high and dry!!!

Oh the direction down that road is not an easy one,
but travel down it we will, time and time again.
I have to love my glove box, especially the key to it.

This was very nice~
