While sitting alone listening to a gentle rainfall,
I filled my cup with passion fruit
and my ears with mellifluous musical ecstasy,
the harmony and cacophony of sweetly scented raindrops
as they graciously
fell, cleansing the earth.
And I noticed the sparkling tiny rainbow dewdrops
resting atop the thankful grasses.

As I gazed out the window
at a meandering yearling moose,
traveling quietly through whispering willows,
my thoughts suddenly soared on golden eagle wings
to distant snow-capped peaks in the Rockies,
where my muse of love lies hidden
like a rare bird in a gilded cage,
or a well-kept treasure chest in a secret cave.

And while I am searching for that magical key
to unlock this wondrous hidden gift,
I start to wonder if it is the real treasure that lies inside,
or the gifts of some Pandora's box in disguise.
And I hesitate for a moment,
fearful of what I might find.

wonderful employ of imagery and vocabulary here MS....
must be so cool to live around that kind of beauty......
as for discovering that muse...
as a poet it must be tapped into....
the fact that you feel it stirring tells me
you already know its going to bring great things to your poetry...
beautiful poem
jm

Well tomorrow holds only mystery
And who's to say what might be
But in you I found a love so strong
The sun and the moon looked on in jealousy

Temptress: Thanks...that was a really nice and generous reply. I tend to do best with nature imagery.

Marge: Hugs back to you. Glad you read and enjoyed this one.

RS Wells: Thanks for taking time to read and reply. The natural world keeps me 'grounded' and sane, especially when humans seem out of control.

JM: Thanks for your encouragement and kind words.  With help from Passions friends, my muse seems to be revealing herself more often.

What a beautiful scene you paint here. Just lovely.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Gosh, Sven, I just might blush this time. Actually, I left out a line...there was a line in there in my first draft about tasting Passions fruitful words, but somehow, it didn't flow the way I wanted it to. Maybe next time.

Tracey, thanks. It seems as if we all need a little more loving passion these days. And where to find it? Here at Passions.
