Deep in the heart

0 posted 2001-10-08 04:44 PM

Let us speak of love in quiet voices
whispering in ears caressed by our breath.
Knowing and caring, we make our choices
believing our love survives even death.

We confidently speak of heart’s desire
without restriction, no hesitation
as our words kindle a passionate fire,
a mutual need for our relation.

Hungrily, our lips meet, drinking in our
emotional wine, inebriating
conscience, allowing desire to tower
higher and higher, and, as our hearts sing,

we surrender, dear, each to this act,
knowing that our love will survive intact.

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Hey Tall Texan....I LOVE sonnets, and I am currently on a pentameter obsession, but enough about ME---the emotion behind this just made me say "oooh" out loud!

'Tis lovely. There is a delicacy of constancy here.

Me applauds.
