Duke Beradus

A thousand years since last was heard of Dwarf clans in the south,
and human memory, being short, had cast them from their mouth.
So the blade called Virgin Vorpal, so well known across the lands,
was legended to have fallen from the Elder Gods own hands.
And passing down from King to King, that blade which shed no blood,
was feared by all, lusted by many, yet held by just one man.
And he, the Northern Duke Beradus, had an ingenious plan.

The mages he had gathered, old and wisest of the earth,
croaked in his ear the secret transdescending mortal worth
of some enigmatic potion and rites done true and pure
which from that final Sickness could a mortal soul be cured.
And who would stand before Beradus when he’s near immortal,
holding high and swinging wide his sword, the Virgin Vorpal?

So with gleaming eyes and scheming heart, he set it all in motion.
His knights rode out across the land for components of that potion.
And with Sir Woarick, Sir Guiness and Sir Cleamt spreading forth in quest,
the High Mage Mestphis held his own ambitions in his chest...

to be continued.

You just gotta make me wait, don't ya?

Love the read, can't wait for more.

It's like Jordan's Wheel of Time series, I've read nine, and can't wait for the next.
