In a corporeal internship...

0 posted 2001-07-17 03:08 PM

(Now that I've posted most of my older poetry and lyrics, I'm ready to dive into some fresh writing and thoughts.  Since my style tends to be lengthy and very strict form and rhyme, I'm going to try something a little different for me:  a new series of poems that I'll call "TWENTY OR LESS..." implying that each will consist of twenty or less words, in free-form style, with the intent of letting the words conjure up subjective impressions and definitions for my readers -- let the previous boundaries of style and form evaporate, for a while, and let's see what your impressions are...  Enjoy!  -MVS)

Glimpse the glistening Truth
In the mind's eye
Delicately the moment chimes
And casts a desire for a mirror

she pulls a mirror
his face looks back, willingly
she snaps it shut, closed

reflected image
truths seen often as passing
sparkling light shows much

Enjoyed you verse... interesting to me how one can read so much into a few lines..often more than in a longer verse. This in part was my first fascination with minimalism..that and the fact I am not smart enough to write anything too long..( laughing) I get confused if I think too much

Nicely done Mark...

My Lady:  that was terse in a decisive and definitive way!  I can still hear the "snap" of that compact, joining its plastic lips to seal out the memory of him!  Well done.

Ron:  thanks -- you don't do yourself enough justice, though, so let me remind you that your works have a lot of insight and wisdom, in addition to a fascinating capacity for revelation in their brevity.  I don't buy, for a minute, that you are "not smart enough to write anything too long"...  not for a minute!  But I am really starting to appreciate your captivation with minimalism -- this series is turning out to be a lot of fun and very enlightening in many ways...

The truth is there
if we open our hearts
and look
the choice
is to remain
delusional

I like that one, Sandra!  ...the choice to remain delusional...  This says a lot.
