Why, no Mom, nothing is wrong
Just didn't take time to write or call
You know me can't say why it took so long
There, there, you don't need to bawl

Been busy working in the garden
Doing the things I love to do outside
Not enough rain so the earth does harden
Ground as tough as her tanned hide

To my eyes she is still my little girl
Though all grown up and so independent
Can make a silk purse from a sow's ear--sure
But no time for letters to be sent

Not a housekeeper for my kid
No time for fancy clothes or shoes
Nothing has changed, doing as she always did
Doing it her way, don't like it? You lose

The child only a mother can love
Dirty finger nails, callouses on hands and feet
Pants so tight they fit like a glove
But her disposition can't be beat

Love you my kid
Enjoyed you company
So many talents hid
Happiness done her way

And you are such a great mother to let her live this way. Very warm verse and very well written. I enjoyed the expression of motherly pondering!
Sincerely,
Regina

Regina, her name is Gina..can you believe it!  I learned early in her life, to not change her.  She is happy and that is all that counts.  Thank you

Mother Earth, you're a great mom.
Seems you just described my children.

You wrote a great verse for your kid.

Titia, as mother's we think our kids are one of a kind.  I guess they are the same all over this world.  My kid has always been her own person. There is no way to change her.  So as her mother, I just except her as she is.
