If you were him
I'd hold you close,
Tell you how much I still love you
And tell you that
I'm sorry.
If you were him
I'd cry
And ask only that you hold me.
But, I need to remind myself
That empty arms
Can not hold
A heart still in love
And I can not
bleed words of love
on paper
enough to capture
your empty heart
So, I'll hold fast
to memories and dreams
in this reality that is
And hope it is enough
to get me through
this day
Because I still love you
and miss you
Happy Birthday
Always
-me

perhaps. . . it is time to hold that which is real. . . and to let go of that which is not. . .

very emotional . . . well done. . .
