                    “SOFT SHOES”
                             by
                        Bill Charles
                           ~~~~
Gliding on the dance floor, he holds her hand,
        both dressed in enticing black,
                and the music plays, from the band…
She in dress above her knees, darkest hair flowing,
        his outfit matches hers,
                together charming, and alluring…
Holding her close, they dance to a waltz,
        moving with each other, intimate,
                without any faults…
Sliding over the floor, like the softest breeze,
        staring into eyes dark, each,
                this moment they would seize…
Music swirls in their heads, like many times before,
        but now they are one,
                dancing and holding, to adore…
Turning and swaying, as lovers being close,
        glasses of champagne rise high,
                eloquent with their toast…
A talented graceful man, and his sensuous partner,
        one that I call a friend,
                this dancer I admire…
Oh, the moves they make, perfectly they choose,
        ‘Greg’ is his name, but I know him as,
                ‘Soft Shoes’…
"Soft Shoes", an excellent nickname for one who can glide over a dance floor with ease.
THis is a nice tribute to his talents
