Bare and naked to the world in the winter,
But bright and beautiful,
Showing off its petals in the summer
Is the rose in my garden.
Blossoms all over
In such gorgeous colors.
Sparkling with the morning dew
Such a sweet sight to the eyes
And such softness to the touch are its petals.
Standing up to the coldest winds
And freezing snows,
As well as drowning rains
And the sun's buring rays,
But never once faltering to show off its beauty.
With a wall of thorns lining the stems up and down
Protect it from potential harms.
Starting out as something so small
Without much attention paid to it,
But growing through the seasons
To become something craved and demanded attention
With its regal beauty.
Oh how I wish I could be like the rose
With such undying beauty
And protecting ways.

I liked this one. A very good write.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

Wonderful job!  I loved the comparison.  Keep it up.  Until your next poem...

Your imagery in this is excellent. The description of the rose and the comparison to yourself was very well done.

Good on you and keep them coming.
