Mist of Time

Tomorrow I balance religions
placing life in the center of beliefs
which in human dichotomy defy
yet define each other

religion of science
religion of life
somewhere in the center a
tightrope titled I

every bridge is burned
soul pushed back and more
is it worth the price this life
I rent razed both past and future done

all to stand absolutely alone
this melody of me will I think
of you as unnatural sleep is applied
will I linger on the letter promised to be mailed

will I balance mind and heart
maintain my illusion bitter speaking
facade or cry out for you will I be strong
and carry no soul but my own calling none

can I bear should body win the path
I scorched and burned will I awake
healed alive with the torture of said and done
I wonder as tomorrow nears am I still even one

Do I really want the tomorrow I have wrought
have I traded life for living in betraying
my heart my soul my bond
do I want to wake at all

Only tomorrow knows

"The past my prison, confined in solitary voiceless penance."

SilentSongs,

Wow!  This is a very powerful piece.  It's filled with the hope of the future washed in an air of forgiveness.  I love the imagery you used.  Great write.

Welcome to Passions!  I look forward to seeing you more.

the heart of a true poet leaves the reader smiling, pondering, or questioning....

quote:
will I balance mind and heart
maintain my illusion bitter speaking
facade or cry out for you will I be strong
and carry no soul but my own calling none

you do well in all of the above....
