inspired by weather and irritated neighbors

Hello, June
Virginia Salter

the night is cool
breezes blow hard
there’s weeds in the garden
and cats in the yard

the neighbor’s debris
is coming to lie
upon my green lawn
instead of going by

but then it’s fair play
with this fine neighborhood
for my weeds that were pulled
have flown east for good

however there’s  more
from whence they came
though working and slaving
they just won’t be tamed

suffice it to say
though neighbors more east
do not liike what they find
in the weeds from this beast

I’m doing my best
to make me weed free
wish they’d do their best
in being happy for me

can I help if the wind
has more power than I
and the weeds I’ve unhinged
have learned how to fly?

Aw now Virginia won't you go next door and take them a cake or something. I know you can't help the wind but what about your weeds on their property....or the other thing you could do is call WEED BUSTERS but you'd have to be the one that pays... I'm just kiddin...I got a chuckle out of this piece and I like the way you presented it..

Have a nice weed free day......I don't mean the kind you smoke that's a personal thing, I mean the ones ya pull!

Ahhhhhh soulbrother, weeds do take over our life in spring, don't they....

They just don't know their place, very persistant they are...

But then...if you look at them carefully, there's such beauty in them too.

Beautiful written

heh heh heh, Thanks, ethome, but to have a real 'weed-free-day' I'd have to leave town and stay in an inner city hotel I think. ;o}, well the pull-up kind, anyway.  At least they're the only weeds I do do, though I wish I didn't do them either.

I don't know, maybe I need to go into their yards and pick up all my weeds, at least they're only irritated, not mad or angry at me. Every now and then I think I should sell my house, but I am not financially solvent to having to start paying rent or house payment for very long.  I need a 'real' job, boo hoo hoo hoo

OOOPs, sorry, there I went 'a total contrast to the light-hearted pieces I wrote today.

Yeah, Titia, I can see lots of beauty in wild-flowers and grasses...out in the country, but people sure don't like 'em growing in my park way along the street.  They all have lots of suggestions, but they won't do it for me, not that they should, but that might be a way to get it done!

You'd think they'd be happy I finally pulled them.  Could they be afraid that they're going to crop in their yards, since I 'let' the wind carry them there.  Duh, do ya think?
btw, Titia, I love the photo you've included, it puts weeds/wildflowers in grand perspective!!
