"How much more"

The reservations are sacred lands
these people need our help and
we need to understand
they're dumping toxic waste
on native lands
the'ye killing off the buffalo
and taking these peoples way of life
for the simple fact that they can
an all the money they get for it
makes them pretty happy too

How much more
pain must they go through
how much more
ignorance and intollerance
do we have to view
how much more
till the world wakes up
and gets a clue

they know their hurting all the people
destroying the earth an youth
with these horrible acts they do
it's environmental slaughter
it ya wanna know the truth
everyone is at risk
our future,land,water
sun,moon,sky
men,women an childrens lives
they keep consuming an controlling
what's not even theirs to claim
the earths not some token
to be bought or sold in a game
the earths not for moneymaking scavengers
to behold an drain
to fill their pockets with loads of money
all at the price of human remains

the tribes just want the better way for
the people and the land
but it's really hard when no one will
listen,respect or try to understand
for the sake of humankind
stop being so blind
when federals are out to make money at any cost
they dont care about who or how many lives are lost
they're spending this money without any remorse
cuz when your down they still wanna beat ya
like a dead horse

How much more
pain must they go through
how much more
ignorance an injustices do we have to view
how much more
till the world wakes up and gets a clue

Nothing is ours to claim
except for all the blood,death,
destruction an shame
yes,we've got plenty of pity
little guilt,lots of blame
what we need is more people
to stand up an say, these acts are insane
we all need to say no more an mean it
an lets make a change
people need to wake up an get a clue
an stop the ignorance,intollerance an
injustices they do

Kelli, I have edited out your ****'s. Please refrain from using vulgarity in the forums and/or using ****'s in place of vulgarity as the end result is the same. Thank you.

I live in a far away country, but I've always felt that way about the matter, same there with the Aboriginals in Australia.

Clap, clap, clap, finally someone who dare to speak their tongue (is that the right expression?)

Well done Watersign6, BRAVO!!!

Great expressions and I'm glad you took the time to share them. The world needs some serious mending or we're all going to disappear off the face of the earth. I wrote a poem recently about the same type of thing. Keep up the outspokeness the real honest people really enjoy the truth.
Have a nice day!

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

A girl after my own heart, you tell 'em!  Let no one muffle your voice, for it appears loud and proud!  Nice work.
