The Shores of Alone

Late last night
walking backwards through the dark alley
of my soul
upon stumbling over trashcans
and truth
arose a revelation of sorts
a cracked photograph of past lives lived
of passions red bruised heart.

And late last night
treading softly through memories back door
jagged words fell from my lips
trailing brokenly behind yesterdays' dream
gathering dust beneath my feet
while roses, replete with thorns
grew untouched in a distant corner
of my mind.

CatalinaMoon~
I could visualize the struggling trip -

'walking backwards through the dark alley
of my soul'

Darkly portrayed~
Nicely done.

Enjoyed this little trip through a bit of your convolutions.  Perhaps that's why the brain looks the way it does . . .

It's amazing how those late night reflections will fill the mind with so many different perspectives. This is a great poem .....love these words and thoughts

"treading softly through memories back door
jagged words fell from my lips
             trailing brokenly behind yesterdays' dream"

I really like the poetic atmosphere of this piece!!

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

~Sandra,...thank you for the roses in this and you, and for seeing now that they're there and always have been. This is so wonderful to read, to see you here. *Peace you.

You never know what to find in a trashcan, do you, maybe they should be looked over carefully before puting them outside.

Very nice write, thank you, Titia

Sandra,
Such imagery and surrealism you have painted. The memories are always lurking around ever corner, and forever living in the corner of our hearts.  Beautiful..
