The Best he Could

My Dad was a jet engine mechanic.
He always liked to tinker and pass his days away
taking mechanical things apart and putting them back together.
Immersed in all this technical stuff.
He read lots of manuals and maintenance books.
Of course he was always a part of the force.
When he was young he joined the Army Air Corp.
which later became the U.S. AirForce.
While in the Air Corp he scored
when he met a sweet young lass named Evelyn
that he loved and adored.
As the years went on seven kids were born
til the day three had grown and moved away.
That's when something sad happened to my Dad.
He had a heart attack and passed away.
He died so young.
Poor health took his life that day.
So sad and so unexpected
to lose him in that way.
I know we all miss Dad.
I think that's understood.
He lived his life for Mom and us.
He did the best he could.

He knows that his children have then put him in the best of light...

acknowledging that he did
all that he could.

A wonderful poem, Sir JamesM.
One, thy Dad shall treasure
as his eyes can see far beyond,
where he rests in a peaceful sleep.

I am delight in the love you felt for him, and the understanding.  Great dedication to your Dad.

JamesMichael,

A loving tribute to the wonderful man your father was.  I'm sure he is honored by your words.
