Dedicated to my friends Cathy and Paul
for the arrival of their daughter
Hannah, on March 3, 2000

Hannah is over 1 year old now and
she is just so adorable!

Littlest Angel

By Melissa Honeybee

Celestial ribbons of pink on this March morn
drape the floor of Heaven divine
heralding the arrival of an angel newborn,
this littlest soul, ever so delicate and sublime

Moon kissed beams waltz upon mountain streams
filling the air with magic and mirth,
fairies and fireflies do glimmer and gleam
as rainbows unfold their colours over the earth

Tears of joy in graceful pirouette fall
bringing wishes granted from marshmellow sky,
once a whispered dream, now the most darling gem of all
flown down with golden wings from God's kingdom on high

Fresh as dawn's dew sprinkled from stars over violet rose
hope shines in her eyes of frosted blue,
innocence sparkles, pure as the whitest snows
from the heart of this littlest angel true

Trumpets rise with glorious choir symphony
in praise for this precious little one,
soft winds at the window whistle a seraphim melody -
a downpour delight through rays of rejoicing sun

Blessed are the new parents filled with the purest of love
forever to embrace their baby girl -
a breath of a miracle sent from above
with a halo of sandy curls of pearls,
a treasure so sweet, full of playful wiles,
heavenly Hannah
bathed in angelic smiles

"When the first baby laughed for the first time,
the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they
all went skipping about, and that was the
beginning of fairies.  And now, when
every new baby is born, it's first laugh
becomes a fairy"
~James Matthew Barrie~

Melis...this is soooo lovely
she must be something special...
she sure inspired you to wonderful heights of imagery.
I know they loved this...
and hey....nice to see your name here again

tis never easy being a moth,
tis not easy being the flame.
what some never see is--
sometimes ... most times ...
they are one in the same.

Now this is a baby gift!  How beautiful was this?  Sure nice to see you again, been looking for you.  I so enjoyed this, and I know the proud parents must be framing it by now.

Melissa, a lovely poem,
