Drifting

I stood arms folded on a wall
Gazing into nothing at all.
Just mulling thoughts of large and small
Supported by a red brick wall.

I thought about the world at large
This ride upon a planets barge
And thought about a way of raj
Of all the payments and the charge.

But nothing came of any awe
Not a spore or pour or wherefore
I stood before an open door
That seemed to me blank evermore.

Then sweetly came the softest yell
That woke me from this listless spell
And I could tell from where it dwell
It was my love my tinker bell.

She knew I’d gone beyond the hill
Where lives the ghostly whip-poor-will.

it's nice to know that if and when one must be disturbed from their thoughts, that for you, in came from your tinker bell...

that one being that should know you so well...

You're not over any hill ... there's lots of fire left in you still
You're not drifting out to sea ... you're sailing infinity with dignity
There's still a twinkle in your eyes ... you still sigh with the butterflies
You share with us your wisdom of gold ... there is no shame in growing old
It's not about the years gone by ... it's about the times you touched the sky
It's not about age, thats all in the mind ... it's about the things you leave behind
It's about not being afraid to try ... and then finding out you really can fly
Everyday we learn from your gifted rhyme ... lessons learned handed down thru time
Teachings of the golden rule ... kissed with cadence and your essence of cool

You light our fire ... take us higher ... in your entire ... you define inspire
Thank you Sy for all that you do ... for all that you are ... all that is you.

JM went the same place I did with the over hill line...   Enjoyed the read very much.  It is a sweet, lyrical poem that is well crafted.

Seymour~
I perceived a moment of what I refer to as -
a hesitation waltz in time ...
that faraway meadow where only our daydreams or daymares reside~

I 'go to the meadow' ... often ~
Thank you for this gentle touching piece.

Sy,
your musings take you to the most interesting places, and to be brought back to reality by Tinkerbell is magic indeed.

Seymour... you just keep on drifting if your wake-up call yields such delightful verse. *S* And JM's addition is great... the two of you have joined to create a place I want to drift for hours. *S*
