I woke this morning to birds
Speaking my name
In a mood I can’t quite describe
Yet borders on shame
All there was and
All there ever will be
In the most peaceful quiet,
These things come to me
Light slowly creeping
Birds softly speaking
My name, over and over
Like a repetitive chant
My mind plays tricks
Like some twisted sycophant
Out of the darkness peers
The solar eye
Parting the gloom
Of the night-time sky
From its sight there
Is no escape
For its sacrifice there’s
No time to waste
What a picture painted
Here in my private world
At peace with myself
And holding on to this girl,
Wishing to never end,
Must be dreaming again

(Typos)

This is a dream that one could get wrapped up in, enough so to draw the shades....
