Sky Play
Virginia Salter

road runner’s
soaring across the sky
leaving a dusty trail

made up of
one ostrich wing
and one ostrich tail

speeding away
from the deep, deep gray
raising up to reveal

a magenta glow
that ol’ Sol has in tow
giving end of day a seal

the sight I see
enlightens me
of the day ahead, its pledge

I’ll face the night
with shear delight
as the sun sinks over the edge

so come with me
and delightful be
as the clouds pull back the stars

as Orion slays
and Dog Star bays
and Jupiter runs away with Mars

I like the format, I like the tone, I like all of this....so I guess I am not very constructive with my critique....it just suits me....

thank you!
