She always liked the bright lights-
Champagne and caviar.
Late hours in the night clubs...
Big bucks and fancy cars.

Just how we met I’m still not sure,
I guess I’m rather plain...
And every thing I was, and did-
Just went against her grain.

She started out to change me-
She fit me for a tux...
And said, “We need a sports car-
I loathe those Chevy trucks”.

The people she hung out with-
Were all a royal pain...
The things they found to talk about-
Near drove a man insane.

She finally said, “That does it”!
And, “You can count me gone”!
She swore I’d never make it-
She ranted on, and on.

“Without me you are nothing!
You’ll probably go insane!”
She may be right, you know tonight?
I miss old what’s-her name?

I miss the meals she didn't cook-
The bed she would not make.
The country ham she never fried-
Those cakes she never baked...

I get a lot more sleep at night-
I know that is a shame-
I guess I must have lost a lot...
I miss old what’s-her-name?

Yep, if you got to change just so your good enough to hang out with them and their friends, you don't need them. Enjoyed the story.

Whenever I need a pick me up, I know to look for your name.  What a personality your pen has!     I love it!

Damn but if that ain't the truth of so many impossibilities.  This was a great read.  Always enjoy your offerings.
