Out Dated

Is it me? Am I outdated?
Can't he seem to understand
That everything these years I've hated,
Stem from drinking, beer in hand.

A party lasts until wee hours,
Late, when sun begins it's rise.
No longer teens, what is the power
To empty keg, see it's demise.

I've thought about the years before me,
Knew back then, the draw it had.
But after 50 years of age, he
Should know that it's kind of sad

To need to prove, he still can do it
Drink and stay up 'til sun's rise.
Is it me, am I outdated?
As anger flows from tender eyes.

Chances are, this match that once was
Heaven scent, has lost it's way
Skirting issues, town's abuzz
As all share in the same display.

Yes, I must be long outdated,
Satisfied with life, at ease.
Never needing drink, be sated
Rather love, the moment's seize

Of all that lays the world before me
Never needing numbing feel.
Wanting only guarantee
That I am what is needed, real.

Though he's back, but temporary
Respect is what I've earned, deserved.
Am I really that outdated?
Why does it make me so unnerved?

Beer was fun back when, but there is so much more . . . sorry you're not sharing it.
You're not outdated, he is.

I agree with Arthur here, he is outdated not you.  Have have grown and matured as most of us do.  He is stuck in adolescence.  Sad really.  Well expressed.

indeed Wynter. . . you've only gotten better. . . and there's nothing that's more outdated than someone who's still living in the past. . .

excellent. . .

No, you are not outdated, you (and I) are women in control!
Passionate, caring and modern.......and we are well...all that and more!

Thank you everyone...and James..not more aware of my likes and dislikes at all.....just aware that there is so much more to life than spending it with someone who prefers an addiction that is not me...
