Awakening

Opening as a flower
As the sun creeps over its bud
Slowly- did you plan it
To give you time
Or to me
Or was it unplanned for you too

In your words
The gentle, kind, sweet
Before the suppressed passion
Whatever, I succumbed
More surprising
I'll always believe
You fell with me

THE MIRACLE

Autonomic response
Created by passion
Fired by long denial
Or something more...
So mature are we
We can confuse
Pure physiology
In gradual transformation
Reflect in afterglow
It was something simply accepted
In our youth
But what if more...
What if the transformation
The chrysalis
Spread her wings
With brilliant butterfly color
Pinks sublime rose from the surface
Deep red and rose
Without finger touch
Without contact from
Approaching lips
What if
Surely an explanation
For these wings
Iridescent color
Blooming out
When Danny DeVito
Becomes Wilt the Stllt
With no more than
eye contact
no mature woman
registers surprise
as we kiss
the miracle finds me
Too much analysis
Accept this
Let it envelope us
It is a true awakening
Of all we are
To one another

The first duty of love is to listen.

Such an awakening is a miracle... and a testament to the power of loving and being loved. This is beautiful, Wilfred!
