Trappings of Burlap

Dressing in the rain,
white cotton transparent
with the touch of each drop.

So like her words to reveal me,
yesterday's trappings of burlap
stripped away.
A soul's worth of dreams newly
spawned by sweet addiction,
as the final whimpering of banal
songs expires unnoticed.

From musty cellars rise waking hopes,
a crimson crowned princess has kissed
the sleeping king.

Finally, we get to officially Welcome you to Passions! I had a feeling from seeing your responses that you had the makings of a fine poet, and I was not mistaken!

Check your e-mail for a special message!

This is a very cool write...
I love the cryptic-mystic dark edge to it...
and the unique imagery
Welcome to Poetry Land CS...
I too look forward to more of your creative work.

From musty cellars rise waking hopes

and sometimes there are treasures hidden in those musty dark cellars

beautiful tale of hope...

May your dreams always dance to the rhythm of a lover's heartbeat...
