Another day
in chary smile
afraid to walk
that last lone mile
all my rage
too close to edge
even smiles
will walk the ledge
"don't touch me!
You will spoil the balance.
(don't love me)
just leave me a dance
and whisper secrets of romance
leaving lip-prints on my head."

Tell me I am not all wrong
a suicide survivor...strong?
to walk the rest of life for you;
we carry on.
We carry on.

"Suicide Survivor" hits so close to home. Glad you have those around to remind you how strong you are.

Serenity....I know I don't have the right....to call you "harpo" as that comes from only close friends....

but the strength of this....

to write as a survivor speaks volumes....

some want to go out and win wars...

so many of us just want to get to the next day....

Serenity....you have walked a wondrous mile.  Warm hugs.  K

Serenity: I read the pain in this, and your poem inspired me to address something that perhaps should have been addressed a long time ago, so I wish to thank you.  I wrote One Single Tear, as I too survived.  Whenever you wonder why you write poetry perhaps it will help you to know, you truly helped me to move on today, thank you. (huge hugs)

well, some of us keep on living, that's the real pain of it!  My heart goes out to anyone who is feeling this way.

serenity - you are not alone with your feelings. Be strong, be proud of who you are, and most of all love yourself. Wish you the best.

The repetition of "we carry on" says it all... a day by day ritual of normalcy. But yanno what? I keep on hoping for the days when survivor isn't the definition... and instead you're simply LIVING... and doing so joyfully! *S* (My bet's on you, gal! *S*)
