Do I perceive you
In mink or ermine
In silk or satin
Do you look latin

Is your hair coiffed
Or tousled or braided
Nails trimmed
Adorned With artful makeup?

Truth told I care not
If you've been aided
My intent - my dream in toto
To make you realize
You could look Quasimodo
You'd still be - my total object
For the you inside
I could not neglect

There may yet be times
Some distant future
When window dressing
Could enhance the view
Right now 'twould suffice
You dressed in morning dew

If I were to dream
Of a "you milieu"
Dressed in a tableau
More entrancing so
Would you like to know

Picture woodland glade
Vision cool pool shade
Soft ferns, pine needles
Where a water-wheel wheedles

Or waterfalls gentle
On sandy beaches
And all that is mental
Is the curve of your lip
The love in your eye
The sound of your sigh
As your kisses I sip

The first duty of love is to listen.

Your perceptions, Mr. Yeats, show through the stream of the waterfall, and quite well, I might add....

this is wonderful!

It's nice to know that some still love from the inside out.  I really liked your poem.

most excellent. This one flows like a slowly bubbling, soothing river, one of your best yet!

I go away for a few months and what do I find upon my return? Just what I expected to-- your pictures of poetic beauty. *S*

Music, tonal clear & pure,
Caresses the harshest of curves.
