I know this is more like a short story but I took a crack at it to see if I could... please let me know what you think...

----------------------------------------

Past Lafayette cemetery
Beyond the lonely graves
An uneasy feeling swells up inside
As if eyes are upon me
Piercing into my very being
Filling me with terror
I begin to quicken my pace
Feeling this dark presence
Moving closer, almost upon me
Soon, running as if for my very life
My heart pounding
"Must run faster, it's getting closer!"
The thought races through my mind

Rounding a corner on Church St.
Ducking into a nearby alley
Breathing heavily
Almost melting into the wall
Praying that this dark force
Will pass me by
Looking around, starting to feel at ease
Breathing a sigh of relief
"It's gone" is all I can muster
But suddenly, a venomous voice enters my mind
"Am I my young friend?"

Frozen by fear, as I slowly turn
Seeing this cloaked form
Standing before me
Unable to even make a sound
As suddenly his reaches out its hand
Touching my cheek
His hand cold and clammy
The light of the nearby lamp
Allowing me to see his eyes
Cold, full of death and violence

His voice chills me to the bone
"Are you ready to great death?"
And without warning or reply
He is upon me, gripping me tightly
Feeling his teeth pierce my skin
Tearing into my flesh
A strange sensation consumes me
As if my life force, being drained
Growls and snarls coming from my attacker
Animalistic, his fingers seem like claws,
Digging into my body

Almost feeling like an eternity later,
I feel his fangs leave my neck
Releasing me, letting my almost lifeless body
Collapse onto the pavement
My breath more shallow with each passing moment
He slowly kneels next to me
Muttering something almost audible
His voice like a devil, "I can leave you hear to die…"
"Or I can give you immortality… what do you wish?"
I lie so very still, unable to move
My life slipping away
Do I want to die or live?
I ponder the demon's offer in my mind…

Fear destroys the mind, depression destroys the soul... only love and compassion may save you from death.

This story reminds me of a kiss from Jackie...as far as I know she's not a vampire...but she could be...James
