Once there was a little girl
As pretty as pretty can be
And every day she walked along
Beside the deep blue sea

One day she picked up a shell
And held it to her ear
To hear the sounds of music
From lands both far and near

She listened with a young girls heart
And magic touched her soul
It tickled her imagination
And her dreams did start to flow

She tossed the shell back to the sea
Along with this her wish
Someday my love will come to me
And win me with a kiss

Years went by as she grew
The magic slipped away
She forgot about that little shell
And the wish she made that day

She still walked beside the sea
But her eyes no longer shared
The sunsplashed beauty of the waves
The gulls dancing on gusts of air

She walked with eyes cast downward
Til childish laughter drew her glance
She found herself looking at a memory
An echo of time and circumstance

A little girl curls blowing in the wind
With a shell pressed to her ear
Her eyes alight with mischief
Dancing to music only she could hear

She calls out to her father
Standing quiet in the sand
Then runs to show him her treasure
And puts the shell within his hand

She watches the two together
And hears what they have to say
Listen to the music Daddy
Lets make a wish today

He leans to kiss his daughter
A kiss filled with love so sweet
And then he looks out toward the ocean
And their eyes did chance to meet

This wasnt the kiss she had dreamed of
It was that and so much more
Deep within her heart she knew
It was the kiss she'd been waiting for

Oh Paula ... to my library this goes! What a beautiful and enchanting story. The flow was wonderfully lyrical, and you wove your thoughts so perfectly to set this scene in my mind. The ending just tugged my heart-strings so sweetly ... I really loved this!

Best wishes,
/Kit

This is by far one of your best to date.  Not only does the message hold much to it but the construction of this piece along with a flawless cadence reads like a song.  Beautifully done and yes, into my library.
