This is a repost of my first post back in Open #9. (It's a bit modified, too.) Just like the etchings on a glass Or the rhythm of iambic pentameter, I can't deny that I long to stay. Like the cold winds From the month of December Well into March, There's no casting aside This imminently catching passion. I know there are more pressing issues, But, to tell you the truth, I'm not that brave when you're far. I couldn't begin to describe The vulnerability that seems to overcome When you're gone. You can't take the obviousness From the serenity of a sleeping child, Or the triumph from a champion Whose first victory has just been won. It's one of those things That require inspiration, The capital letters of that coveted treasure. All I could say certainly is That the only way I could fight the dark Is with you beside me. < !signature--> I won't go, I won't sleep, I can't breathe until you're resting here with me... A classic re-run of your unmistakable style. Wonderful to see it come around again and I am not sure of the modifications but I know I like what I see in this one a whole lot. Nicely done my friend. |
