The Sunshine After The Rain

My heart isn’t truly broken I just need to rest awhile
And one day soon I’ll rediscover loves perfect smile
I don’t know when it will happen but I know it will
Because loves beauty doesn’t ever die it lives on still
When the sunlight is hidden behind clouds overhead
It means that the weather is dark, the sun isn’t dead
And like the sun will come out again in its own time
Then my heart will know love, loves light will shine

Rest when you must but don’t give up hopeful dreams
Life is ever changing we don’t understand her themes
Every one of us has a place a reason why we are here
We are in the circle of life there are smiles and tears
But things don’t happen because we deserve the pain
Things happen to everyone its part of life’s own game
Each time you fall on the road teaches you how to rise
Each tear is a precious lesson in how to dry your eyes

Rainbows won’t always shimmer in the air above you
Life isn’t always full of them but their promise is true
We’d all like to see their colours reflecting loves light
But it’s the rainbow’s lift that makes it a welcome sight
If you always saw rainbows they wouldn’t bring a smile
And if they weren’t special would you go another mile?
Life is a tapestry full of wonder and it does have tears
But they are what teach us the lessons our heart fears

What would life be like if you only ever smiled all day?
How could you know wonder if sorrow hadn’t held sway
Isn’t it the shadows that make you welcome life’s sun?
For until you’ve tasted real sadness your life hasn’t begun
The truth of beauty wouldn’t really reach into your heart
Unless by deep troubles your soul has been pulled apart
It’s the rain of tears that makes the souls flowers grow
It’s this rain that waters them making hearts love flow

Excellent poem, Marsha! I agree with you. I think we learn from pain, and that's how we learn to love. In Buddhist beliefs, they say "Anger is not overcome by anger, anger is overcome by love". "Sorrow is replaced by love" "Love replaces all, everyone enjoys life". Very sincere message, Marsha! And your heart is not broken, there is always true love out there. Sting says, "After the rain has fallen, after the tears had washed your eyes, love can replace in the blink of an eye". Excellent poem, my friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Marsha, this is a magnificant poem that reflects your great wisdom and understanding of life. Thank you for teaching us these truths through your beautiful verse.

beautiful sincere thoughts ...
each of our tears are a lesson learned ...
we learn the most when they are lessons of the heart

well done

I summon up remembrance of things past ...
I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought.

Good write Marsha. Good read.

I think love is a given, in essence, and everything else adds to or subtracts from that love.  We do learn from pain...not to love, but things to avoid.  Love, first experienced at birth when mother pulls you to her chest for the first time (inside the womb is another aspect of discussion), grows and grows - rising and falling in magnitude and amplitiude, but ever increasing in quality -  with lessons learned from "pain" encountered along the way. (huge discussion so will just leave it at that for now).

Enjoyed...

Kathleen love, you will love, it will be full of flowers, of hope and wonder, they will come to you. Honestly
You will rise, and until you do, I'll be there to share my phoenix wings with you love.

Noah love, it's true, each one of us has our destiny, and it is through our experiences that we work out way through life. Thank you love I do appreciate that you took time to read this and to let it's message run through you.
Take care love

Lovebug, thank you truly, although if I was that wise love I wouldn't fall onto the path of life quite so often. But since I believe in destiny and fate, maybe it's my place in HIS scheme to show me what I must pass on to others.
I do thank you most truly.
Take care love

Janet Marie love, thank you so very much, I do value your comments, and praise even though I don't believe I deserve it in the least. But I aspire to deserve it one day, although I know I could never merit as much as you give me. Thank you so very very much
Take care love

Jimmy love, thank you truly, you are right, the nuns who taught me all those moons ago, used to say that the lessons that we learn in life are all love in it's different form, but always love. They also said that our tears are no where near as painful or as plentiful as the tears HE sheds. For each time we fall on the path, he takes the majority of our lifes pain.
Anyway thank you muchly love, you know how much I appreciate you don't you.
Take care love

Kethry love, thank you love as always for encouraging me and yes even for cracking the whip. I know I need to stretch if I'm ever to learn the things you and everyone else here knows instinctively. (But... it's work so I truly do need you to motivate me) Thank you love truly
