In the space between moments

A rage of shadows
Exhales from the mouth of night,
A luscious curve of
Caliginous haze
Rolling through the twilight.

Fragile eyes stare
From beyond the dingy mist,
Her dreams brutally raped
By the distorted phantom
Of fate.

A callous skyline
Throws darkness in veils
Around a writhing, sobbing form,
Indifferent to the torture
Screaming in her silent lungs.

She remembers the moment
Her lover was stripped of life
And tossed aside in a heap
Of foul carrion...
And she wonders if she can ever
Face the shafts of sunlight
Of slicing day again.

For now the fury of shadows
Murmur within her thoughts
And she watches with empty eyes
As the luscious curves
Of caliginous haze
Sweep over her tragic existence.

My goodness!!! This is fantastic.... you know I've been reading a lot of older poetry lately and remember the first time you came to Passions. You've grown in talent since then..and you were superb from the start!

You definetly battered down your writer's block with this piece. A very dark and painful piece, I think I have an idea where inspiration came from... Another excellent piece sweetheart, I love your dark imagery and your poignantly sorrowful visions.

Krista~

It's so good to see you posting your gems again     Well, where should I start...this leaves me breathless.  I "feel" your words and was pulled in by the tale weaved in this. The imagery, the flow, the powerful words were all poetic perfection.  This was an intense, dark read, but on a poetic standpoint - outstanding!

Take care,
Melissa

No doubt about it......you beat your writer's block and going from how superbly this piece was written, you sent you muse to school.  This was wonderfully stated and brings the anguish out masterfully.  I enjoyed the write but I would not wish this mood for anyone.

Wow... what a way to beat writer's block. Only you, my friend. Another piece that deserves publication and immortality. For now, it will go in my library!

Thanks for sharing.
