Dream of Linda

dream of Linda
holding hands
light touch, fingers kiss
squeezes the warmth of my palm
looking for her eyes
hold me in their glow
soft sparkle chestnut brown
slight furrow of eyebrows
a demure grin
forming “What?”
but she knows what I’m thinking
as she breaks into a smile

wind caught raven hair
so beautiful toss her head
to catch the breeze
with her delicate face
a moment captured
she closes her eyes
tracing her porcelain skin
with my mind
softly nuzzle her neck
beneath an exquisite jawline
long to kiss her
cheekbones

lost in my stare
forget to look nonchalant
as she opens her eyes
a glance my way
a musical laugh
again says “What?”
her arms surround me
“I love you”
caressing my face
the smell of her skin
slowly parting lips
awaken my kiss

dream of Linda…

Reminds me of when I'm with my sweetheart...I find myself thinking "Oh God isn't she lovely."  James

Nate Dogg,
Agust P,

Thank you for your compliments. When you're describing someone who makes your heart turn somersaults in your chest, the imagery can't help but be beautiful.
--------------------------------------------
JamesMichael,

You said it perfectly! The best kind of compliment you can give your sweetheart is the one that leaps out of your heart and mouth unbidden and is written all over your face with just a glance.
--------------------------------------------
Sven,

Thank you. My intention when writing this poem was to give the reader the sense of being "behind my eyes". I'm glad I succeeded. :-)
--------------------------------------------
g,

Yes, love is made of dreams. I hope one day I can make dreams like this one come true. Thanks for looking "in my window".

- Jeff
