Perfect Day

A flower,
A star, twinkling afar,
A quite moon lit night,
The day’s last light,
It all seems so right
To hold you this night

The crickets chirping,
Fills the air,
With sounds that summer,
Will soon be there.

I look at you again,
For the first time.
I see the sky reflected,
In your eyes,
I see the soft glow of your face,
Oh what beauty you have.
I’d rather be no other place,
Then here by your side.

Even in your silence,
You know how to say,
The words that will make my day.
“I love you.” they say.
You show me the way,
To be happy everyday.

I whisper to you,
“I want it to stay this way.”
You reply, “If only it could stay.”

I bring forth from my pocket,
A ring for you.
Upon my knees I go,
I say, “Can we keep it so?”
“I see your beauty, and love so deep,
Will you be my wife to keep?”
Speechless for a moment,
You look at me,
And see,
All that could be.
