Two Paths

What fragrance this, to rouse me from my rest,
My true love’s scent, and does she then remain?
Or do my senses flaunt with cruelest jest,
Exquisite torture, sweet, yet so profane.
Yet always does she grace my inner sight,
Just as she graced my arms this evening last,
But morning’s advent reconfirms my plight,
Alone again with memories amassed.
If I must walk alone then grant me this,
Her voice in every songbird’s serenade,
And let me feel the softness of her kiss,
Within the touch of nature’s lush brocade.

For though our paths too seldom may converge,
Within our hearts does perfect love emerge.

What a lovely, fragile sonnet.

This was beautiful.  So romantic!

I almost didn't read this beautifully crafted sonnet, and what a shame it would have been to miss it!  Very nice work.
